Quick answer
Workshop Hours is Jack's quest that asks for one Supply: Iron crate.[1] Craft it at a Woodworking Workbench (6 Iron Ingots, 4 Boards, 8 Bronze Nails) or an Assembly Bench (8 Iron Ingots).[2] Then climb down the ladder to the left of Jack, put the crate on the tarp-covered crate pile in the warehouse basement, and deliver before the next order day. Crates dropped on the day itself may not count until the following week.[3][4]
Before you start
- Quest chain: Workshop Hours opens after Docked and Found and is given by Jack, the workshop foreman, in the Town Warehouse.[1]
- You need Iron Ingots. If you have none, start with Where to find iron.
- The Woodworking Workbench recipe also needs the Iron Forge technology and Building mastery 4.[2]
Supply: Iron recipes
| Station | Ingredients | Building mastery | Other requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Woodworking Workbench I | 6 Iron Ingot, 4 Board, 8 Bronze Nails | 4 | Iron Forge technology |
| Assembly Bench I (also II and III) | 8 Iron Ingot | 2 | Assembly Bench in the Factory |
Recipe data is from the Wikily item database.[2] Assembly Benches are Factory conveyor stations,[5] so in a young save the Woodworking Workbench is usually the one you already have. Supply: Iron has a fixed value of 50 bronze and no trader buys it, so only craft what orders ask for.[2]
Step by step
- Accept the order. On the order day, open the order board in the Town Warehouse and accept Jack's Supply: Iron order.[4]
- Craft the crate using one of the recipes above.[2]
- Go down the ladder to the left of Jack. It is easy to miss.[3]
- Find the crates covered by cloth/tarp on the right side of the basement and interact with them while carrying the supply.[3][4]
- Check the counter on the order board, then come back on the next order day to collect the result and finish the quest by talking to Jack.[4][1]
The order day
The Wikily calendar lists Pride as the day when town orders are accepted and the warehouse pays out, and says that day is unlocked by Workshop Hours.[6] Players on the Steam forum describe the order day by its purple sun glyph and warn that delivering on that day, instead of before it, pushed completion back by a full week.[3]
Rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Reputation with Jack | +10 |
| Jack's shop | New stock unlocked |
| Town Gratitude | 1 item |
| Next quests | Plaza Battle, Jack's Back in Business |
Rewards are from the Wikily quest page.[1] After the quest, Supply: Iron shows up again in Jack's orders: a single order of 1 crate for +20 Likes, and a repeatable order of 5 crates (Jack level 2) for +10 Likes.[2]
Common mistakes
- Putting the crate in a normal chest. Only the tarp-covered delivery pile counts toward orders.[4]
- Delivering on the order day itself. Deliver the day before or earlier.[3][4]
- Crafting extra crates to sell. No trader buys them.[2]
- Skipping Jack's dialogue. It contains the delivery instructions; players who skipped it looked for the drop point in the wrong place.[3]
